Gus found our Point n' Click the other day & ran around the house snapping shots. Lots of random carpet shots, shoes, Tuck's butt, or some really bad morning shots of me. Little bit of cropping & we've got a winner.
I think it's an appropriate picture for this post. I've had several conversations with Ava that start like this, "I think Tuck hates me." When he comes home from daycare, he's mad at me! It's like I can't give him enough food. And he wakes up like a demon! After a nice howling for someone to get him, he'll see us & then start screaming in the crib. When I pick him up, it he begins to pound on my chest. This morning, I took a different approach. Time to start nursing again in the mornings.
I thought that we had started the weening process. Tuck didn't seem to need as much nursing time, but that's all changed & I'm not sure why. He'll be a year next month & that's usually when I put the Girls away. I figured his recent reduction of the Boobie was because he was getting older. In the past month, he had gone down to nursing sometimes around 4 p.m. & then right before bed. An occasional morning nursing, but it was usually at 5 a.m. if it happened at all. But the past week, it seems like he really needs his nursing time and it makes him happier. When I popped him off this morning, he was upset for a minute. But he calmed down & became my happy baby again. I've missed that happy baby. I blamed teething for his mood change, but maybe it was his nursing habits. So we'll go back & address the weening time line later.
Why all the breastfeeding talk? I came across this post & petition. We've never hidden the fact that we're big fans of breast-feeding. Recently, a friend told me that the benefits were only important for the first two weeks of the baby's life. After that breastfeeding serves no real purpose. I think she said it was just published in some medical journal. I won't get into BF debates with other women. I just know that it's extremely important to me. If it's also an issue that you're passionate about, please take the time to read the post & sign this petition.
And don't forget to vote & comment! I'm a little shocked by the outcome.
