This may be the fastest I have ever knit. If only I could keep this pace up . . . maybe then I wouldn't have so many UFOs, but I did at least finish something this month. Now granted, it was supposed to be for February, but the lone Jaywalker constitutes the finished object for March and I am aiming to have several more by the month's end. The second Jaywalker proved to be a bit more challenging for me because I got sloppy. I forgot to mark the front side of my sock and doing Magic Loop really requires you to be on your toes with the beginning of rounds. Sloppy equals many traveling stitches. All in all, they are very comfortable, but I don't know that I would knit with Regia again.
Can I just say how much I am loving the Rockin' Sock Club? The pattern of super, the yarn is lovely, and the sock itself if awesome. I took the picture early yesterday morning and by evening's end, I turned the heel and began the cable pattern. That, and it truly is minor, is my only issue only because a five over five cable with a center slip stitch tends to be rather tight and doesn't lend itself to needle-less cabling. I am using my Blue Sky Alpaca needles and am truly afraid that I might snap one as it is so tight. After I checked out a few blogs for completed socks, I resigned myself to the pooling and flashing that others had encountered, but I am happy to report that it has been minimal at best. That being said, the other, I am sure will flash like crazy.
The Flyer and I took the girls to see 300 over the weekend. Basically, it was a graphic novel brought to life, full of warrior Chippendales. As an actor, you really had to be sure of yourself physically as you costume was basically a leather brief and a scarlet cape. Unless you were the bad guy or a woman - in the case of the bad guy, you got tons of gold chains and little else. For the women, I think they judged you on your nipple size. Unless you could play ring toss on your nipples, they didn't appear to be interested in casting you . . . very interesting.
Lola is headed east in a few weeks and we are planning a trip into both New York City and Philadelphia. So far, the days are pretty open, but we are both dying to make it to Purl Soho and Lush. Personally, I have a craving for Pret a Manger, but it may just a be a London craving. Target, by the way, is curbing that craving just a little bit as they are now carrying some of the Boots line in their stores. If you have the time, check it out; it's like a little bit of London in the States. The Mediteranean Wonderbalm is the best thing out there for chapped and dry skin and the smell is pure yumm-o.
See you soon, Lola! Oh, and I talked to the Other Sister for a whole hour - an HOUR - today and spoke a little Spanish with the Nephew. He can count to ten in Spanish, which is about the extent of my abilities unless you count cerveza.

PS - The new Blueprint is out! The new Blueprint is out! We are totally rocking the gin punch when you visit.
I love the yarn & pattern!
When SK got home from 300, he said "I think I'm going to work out."
Gin punch looks yummy & I'm not even a big gin girl.
Oh one more week!
